Not-for-profit and charity web design by Willow Jam Media, accessible websites for community organisations across Australia For community organisations

Your work has moved on. Your website hasn't.

Most community organisation websites were built by a volunteer who left three years ago. Nobody's sure who has the login, the theme hasn't been updated since 2019, and the donate button, if there is one, sits three clicks deep on a page called "Support Us".

Meanwhile the site is doing real work whether you've maintained it or not. It's the first thing a funder opens before a grant decision. It's where someone looks for your service at eleven at night. It's how a would-be volunteer decides whether you're still going.

Built to WCAG 2.1 AA, so people using screen readers, keyboards and magnification can use it
Donations, volunteer sign-ups and service enquiries where people can actually find them
Written for two audiences at once: the people you serve and the people who fund you
You own everything, with a handover built for committee turnover

We build so
everyone
can get in.

For most businesses, accessibility is a compliance box to tick. For a disability service, a community health organisation or a neighbourhood centre, it's the entire point. A website your own community can't navigate quietly contradicts the thing you exist to do, and funders have started asking about it. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA as standard.

What holds organisations back

The site that shuts people out.

  • A site a screen reader can't navigate, run by an organisation that supports people with disability
  • Nobody on the committee can update it, and the volunteer who built it is long gone
  • Donate, volunteer and get help buried under "About Us"
  • Services described in funding language that nobody outside the sector understands
What we build instead

The site that lets everyone in.

  • WCAG 2.1 AA: colour contrast, keyboard navigation, alt text, semantic structure, visible focus states
  • A CMS your least technical committee member can update, with written handover documentation
  • Donate, volunteer and get help visible on every page
  • Plain-English service pages, with the funding language kept where it belongs

We build to WCAG 2.1 AA and test with the tools that matter. It's how we build, not a formal third-party accessibility audit. If your funding agreement specifies a standard or requires independent certification, bring it to the first conversation and we'll build to it.

Everything a
community organisation
actually needs.

Everything above is part of the build, not an add-on. Each site is built around how people find you, use you, and decide to support you.

01

Accessibility Built In, Not Bolted On

Semantic structure, keyboard navigation, proper contrast, descriptive alt text and forms that work with assistive technology. Built in from the first draft, because retrofitting accessibility costs more and works worse.

02

Donations That Actually Complete

A donate button on every page, a checkout that doesn't lose people on mobile, and receipting wired into whatever you already use. Recurring giving set up properly, so a monthly donor stays a monthly donor.

03

Volunteers & Members, Signed Up

Clear pathways for people who want to help: volunteer registration, membership forms, event sign-ups. Enquiries land somewhere your team will actually see them.

04

Found by the People Who Need You

Local SEO built in, so you turn up when someone searches for support services in your area. Google Business Profile set up properly, and structure that helps you appear in local search.

05

Built for Funders, Too

An impact page, annual reports, ACNC registration and DGR status, governance and financials where a grant assessor expects to find them. Half of what your website does is prove you're credible.

06

Handover That Survives Turnover

Committees change. Coordinators move on. You get admin access, written documentation, and a walkthrough recorded so the next person isn't starting from zero.

Running something else? Most donation, CRM and event platforms offer an embed, widget or API, and we've wired in plenty, including Eventbrite and Zapier. Tell us what you use and we'll connect it.

Community work,
broadly defined.

Small volunteer-run groups through to established service providers. If your work depends on people finding you, trusting you and getting in touch, we'll build you a site that helps.

We're based on the NSW Central Coast and build for organisations across the country. Interstate and regional projects run on video calls and shared documents, with no fuss.

Writing a funding application? We'll do the quote for free.

Every grant application needs an itemised budget, and most are written by someone doing it after hours between everything else. If a website is part of your project, we'll give you a proper written quote to attach: scope, staging, costs and timeline, in the format assessors expect. It costs you nothing and commits you to nothing. If the funding comes through, we're ready to start. If it doesn't, you've lost nothing but an email.

We've quoted for Community Building Partnership applications, council community grants, ClubGRANTS, philanthropic trusts and federal programs. Send us the guidelines and your deadline and we'll work to it.

Not-for-profit web design,
answered.

Do you offer not-for-profit pricing?

Yes. Registered charities and incorporated not-for-profits get a reduced rate. Tell us about your organisation and your budget and we'll be straight with you about what's achievable. We'd rather scope a smaller site that works than quote something you can't fund.

What does it cost and how long does it take?

Most projects land between roughly $2,500 and $8,000+ depending on size and functionality, and take around 4 to 6 weeks from kickoff to launch. Every project is quoted after a discovery conversation, with no hidden costs.

Will our website be accessible?

Yes. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA as standard, covering contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader structure, alt text and accessible forms. It's how we build rather than an optional extra. If your funder requires formal certification, tell us early and we'll work to that.

Can you help with our grant application?

We'll write you a free quote to attach to your application budget: scope, costs and timeline in the format assessors want to see. We don't write the application itself, but we'll make the website section easy.

Can we take donations through the site?

Yes. We set up one-off and recurring giving through platforms like Stripe, GiveWP, Raisely or Chuffed, with receipting connected to whatever you already use. The donate path is designed to actually complete on a phone.

Who owns the website when it's finished?

You do. The domain, the hosting account, the content and the admin access are all yours, and we hand over documentation so you're never locked in. If you ever want to move on, nothing stops you.

Our committee changes every year. Can we manage it ourselves?

That's exactly what we build for. You get a CMS designed for non-technical users, written documentation, and a recorded walkthrough so the next coordinator can pick it up without calling us.

Do you work with organisations outside the Central Coast?

Yes. We're based on the NSW Central Coast and work with organisations across Australia. Video calls and shared documents keep remote projects moving.

Let's build something your whole community can use

Tell us about your organisation, who you serve, and where your website is falling short. If there's a funding round coming up, tell us that too. We'll have a quote ready for your application.
